14 Mar Erin & Min Wedding Part I
It’s very rare that a photographer gets to photograph her childhood friend’s wedding, yet that is the extreme honor I had in photographing Erin & Min’s wedding. Erin, her twin sister Kristen, and I were friends in middle school and throughout high school. I feel extremely lucky to have kept in touch with them and witness the incredible women they have become. When Erin called me about photographing her wedding, I was so excited to talk with her and meet the man who captured her heart.
I knew this guy was going to be special, but I had no idea how funny he would be! Min, Erin and I met at Octane Coffee to talk through normal wedding stuff – date, venue, ideas for photos, things to ask other photographers to compare, album options, etc. They had me cracking up the whole time. I was thrilled to find out later that they wanted to hire me and was extremely honored in their decision.
Erin, her mom, Payge with Bash Atlanta, Autumn with Harts & Petals, and Bonnie with the Piedmont Room and I all met for our pre-wedding walk-through. We were able to talk through the schedule, plan out the flow for the day, and take care of a lot of details including getting a golf cart to take us around the park for photos.
The day of the wedding, I met Erin and the women of the family at the W hotel to get the detail shots, a few getting ready pictures, and capture the adorable kids playing in the room with us. Kyle joined Min and the guys to capture their hang out time together and a walk to the park. In the courtyard of Park Tavern, Erin & Min had their first look together before we whisked them off into the park for photos of just the two of them.
Despite being February 4th, there was a single cherry tree in bloom I spotted in the distance. We made our way towards the tree and as the sun was setting, the blushing blooms seemed to glow. Trying to make the most of time, we headed over to the oval in the park to get some skyline shots. The golf cart didn’t go as fast as I would’ve liked (we had a conservative driver, lol), but we still captured beautiful portraits of Erin & Min before the ceremony.
As the sun was setting, guests were arriving and the start time to the ceremony was approaching. We are going to share the first half of the ceremony with you for our part one post. We’ll then share the second half of the ceremony along with the rest of the night in our part 2 post that will be posted later this week. You won’t want to miss it! Enjoy the sneak peek for part 1:
We’re excited to share the rest of the photos with you soon! We hope you enjoyed the sneak peek part 1!
