Engagement Photography Session in South Georgia

At the bridal show held at the Fox Theater, we gave away an engagement photography session and Sable came up to me with her fiance to let me know that she won. They were really excited to have me as their engagement photographer, which made me excited too! I told them that I usually like to take engagement photos at a place that has meaning to the couple and want to stay true to the couple’s personality and story. When I asked if anything came to mind, Sable told me about her family’s house in south GA with some pecan trees, an old truck and a small barn type shed. I was even more excited. It sounded like a dream and I knew it would be worth the drive to capture their story where they are also getting married this summer.

Sable’s family was at the house when I arrived and everyone was so kind. The house was full of character and the field with pecan trees and truck was just as she described. The sun stayed high in the sky for a while so we worked with some of the other features around us before taking photos with the truck. Despite almost stepping on top of a snake, we had such a great time and once again I had an extremely tough time narrowing down the photos. Enjoy this large sneak peek from the engagement session!

Announcing A New Photography Class for Beginners!

We are so excited to announce that we have partnered with the Beehive Atlanta to bring you a Photography 101 class! It’s a one-time class that will be offered twice a month for people who are wanting to learn how to take better pictures, understand the basics of photography and get more familiar with the manual settings on their camera. We’ll cover technical things like shutter speed, aperture and ISO as well as visual concepts like depth of field, composition and more! If you’re wanting to learn how to take better pictures with your camera, then this class is for you! Just make sure to bring your camera so you can follow along and ask questions. If you have your manual, bring that too. It’s the perfect photography class for beginners! Click on the link above to sign up!

We wish we could be there to capture all of the important moments in your life, but we know that we can’t. Instead, we’d like to help you be able to capture those smaller special moments yourselves and just call us for the big things like a wedding, having a baby, celebrating Mother’s Day with a family session, capturing a big birthday party or whatever the occasion may be… The photography 101 class will be offered through the end of the year with plans to expand to more advanced classes and workshops if the interest is there. A Special Mother’s Day Post from Shutter Sweet Photography

When I photograph the Chickfila events, I have so much fun meeting different families. Cynthia came to the last Mother Son event and told me she was expecting her third and would love to consider using Shutter Sweet Photography for her newborn photos. After touching base closer to her due date, she decided to hire us after looking at our work and the products we had to offer. Originally, she was just going to do the child’s “first year” package which includes 4 photo shoots and an album at the end. However, Cynthia called me two months before she was due and asked if I was a maternity portrait photographer. She wanted to to book a maternity photo session knowing that this would probably be her last pregnancy and wanted to capture it.

I was so excited because I love preggo sessions. There’s something so special about a woman with a life growing inside of her and witnessing the miracle taking place. The anticipation and excitement is contagious! Cynthia is a beautiful mom and I really enjoyed getting to know her better during our session. It was also great to meet her two kids and husband while we captured some sweet moments together. I’m really looking forward to our sessions together as I get to meet the newest addition to their family and capture them as they grow throughout their first year together. We’d like to wish all the mothers who read our blog a Happy Mother’s Day (we were shooting a wedding yesterday so we’re a day late in posting)! We’ve worked with some incredible moms over the years and hope that you all know your worth every day throughout the year, not just on Mother’s Day. Bridal Portrait Photography at Grand Oaks Wedding Venue

As a bridal portrait photographer, I have so much fun with brides acting as if we’re on a fashion shoot and getting stunning images in the dress they fell in love with. I knew Becca and I were going to have a great time because she’s full of personality, beautiful inside and out, and isn’t shy in front of the camera. Plus, we had a great time on our engagement session!

With her wedding just a week away, I didn’t want to get her dress dirty, but wanted to showcase this beautiful new outdoor wedding venue we heard about called Grand Oaks in Commerce, GA. I met one of the owners at a luncheon and after hearing the description, I knew I wanted to have a shoot there. When we arrived, it was pretty much every country bride’s dream. A big beautiful red barn, a lake with a pavilion/dock area, huge oak trees on a beautiful lawn, a large open field, horses, vintage tractors… you name it. The owners are extremely friendly and I hope that I am able to shoot some weddings here too! We included some photos of the venue so you could really get a feel for the place.

Even though everything was covered in pollen that weekend, we managed to keep the dress white and come out with some amazing photos. I wanted to share these right away, but didn’t want to ruin the surprise for the groom, so we’re just posting them now. Enjoy one of my favorite bridal portrait sessions of all time!
